Known Limitations
- Images embedded as linked files (not physically inside the DOCX) are not extracted — only inline/embedded images are present in the ZIP
- Password-protected DOCX files cannot be opened — detected and flagged
- WMF and EMF (legacy Windows metafiles) are extracted as raw bytes with their original extension — preview may not work in all browsers
- SVG images embedded in newer DOCX files are extracted and will preview in browsers that support SVG
- Images inside OLE objects or ActiveX controls are not extracted
- Very large files (>25 MB) are rejected to protect browser stability
- Duplicate image files (same bytes referenced multiple times) are deduplicated by filename within the ZIP
- Very large embedded media entries are flagged and skipped to avoid ZIP bomb or memory exhaustion behavior
- Download All triggers multiple browser downloads; some browsers may ask for permission or throttle them
